Magnesite is a soft magnesium carbonate mineral. Magnesite is generally white, but can be yellow, brown, or gray. It looks similar to Howlite, and is commonly dyed to mimic turquoise or simply to create a more colorful stone. It is often mislabeled as “White Turquoise”, but it’s not actually related to turquoise.
